I Have a Website!

Welcome! I have website now! And a blog, too, I guess!

This isn’t my first rodeo…well, website. You’ll see what I mean in a moment. Many years ago, I had another website. In the late 2000s I started a photoblog called forensicRODEO, powered by “pixelpost” at the time. I kept up with it for a while, but called it quits after a few years. Since then, I have still been interested in photography and still enjoy the process of capturing and processing images; however, most of my photos live on a hard drive. For several months, I have felt the need to share them again and recently started designing this site with Squarespace.

That reminds me!—Many thanks go out to Squarespace, the sponsor of…I’m only joking! Sometimes it seems like every YouTube video I watch is sponsored by Squarespace, which isn’t a bag thing!. A code from a YouTube video on a photography channel saved me 10% off the cost of this site. Anyway, I’ll get back to the post now.

As I was thinking about this site, I thought that I should have a logo that could represent the type of photography that would be showcased on the site. I’m mainly into nature photography (wildlife and landscapes, mainly). I do enjoy other types of photography and those images may land in a gallery one day. To design the logo, I enlisted artificial intelligence to help me come up with something. I wanted the logo to have mountains, trees, and the sun. It is probably cliché, but I wanted the sun to be a set of aperture rings. The design that went with after some editing is at the top of this page and I’ll show it here below as well. I almost didn’t go with it after googling whether aperture rings in a photography logo were cliché or not. As it turns out, I really couldn’t care less. Cliché or not, I like the logo and think it fits well with my current vision for the website—at least for now.

It’s still a mystery as to what this website will turn into moving forward. I’m happy you’re here and hope you will join me in the blog and on the website as we see what it becomes together. Currently, it will be a place that will showcase a collection of my images. I plan on updating this blog when I feel like I have something to share. Some of my images may come to live in a blog post rather than in one of the main galleries sections. I’m happy you’re here and will join me in the blog and on the website, and together we will see what it becomes moving forward.

Take care of yourselves and I wish you the best on your photographic adventures!
